Client Support

The bit that most website designers find so difficult...
If you needed a website designer to create your site in the first place, the chances are that you will need their help and support as the site evolves. But will they be there when you need them? Unlike a paper catalogue, a good website isn't static. It needs to be dynamic. Website content needs to change frequently in order to reflect a changing business, to retain the loyalty of existing customers and capture the interest of potential new customers. Without change, your website and your company's public image become stale and tired very quickly. Visitors simply will not return if there is nothing to return for. When GC Website Designs was formed it was my intention not just to "design and run" as so many companies seemed to do, but to develop long term working relationships with clients providing advice support and service.

How much support will be needed?

Some of our clients only require support for a few hours a year, others need 20 or more hours a month. Some clients prefer to do routine maintenance themselves and only use us to make the major changes. What they all need is a personal service, speed and reliability, leaving them to get on with their own job.

How long does it take?

Most updates arrive with us by e-mail, with digital graphics as attachments. Others arrive on CD. Some even arrive on paper! which we scan to copy the photos, or OCR to extract the text. We have found that a typical A4 press release with a photo will take an hour to process and upload to a website. Clients have always been very impressed with the speed of our work.

How much will it cost?

Maintenance of your site is included in the annual fee. This entitles you to updates on a monthly basis. Normally we ask clients to send us several updates at once rather than dribs & drabs every few days.
Major alterations or additions to your site will be subject to our normal pricing structure. Click Here to see pricing.
